Redesign Business Models with the Adoption of Digital Technology

Abstract

Digitalization has had an impact on company business models. Especially in Indonesia, considering the need for more research related to similar issues. This research will focus on studying two creative industry companies are located in Sleman Regency. The specific objective is to find out the extent to which digitalization affects a company's business model. This research is qualitative in nature and data collection was carried out using semi-structured in-depth interviews with three representatives each from the two creative industries. Both industries described in this research outline the impact of digitalization on their companies' business models. The findings in this research show that the impact of digitalization and value creation is very positive and effective for both industries. Digitalization creates added value for companies because it is easier for customers, networks and partners to recognize and reach them. For value capture, digitalization makes company revenues greatly increase. Utilizing the value generated by digitalization also enables the creative resin industry and creative printing industry to innovate to increase new services and demand for new products.  In general, broader and further research is certainly needed to determine the extent of the influence of digitalization on business models and company strategies.
