The (Un)Importance of Longer Tenured and Transformational Leader Toward Performance

Abstract
This research uses the theory of transformational leadership to check the assumption that village decentralization requires visionary leaders to optimize village potential which often still faces a situation of 'still not being optimally explored'. In addition, using upper echelon theory, transformational leaders are expected to make the village government's performance run well. This research contribute to the village governance research through: (1) developing a theoretical foundation for examining transformational leadership issues and tenure scenarios; (2) improving village performance measures that are relevant to current conditions and (3) presenting empirical evidence that supports this theoretical basis. Using path analysis with AMOS 22, it can be concluded that all hypothesis is accepted except the tenured cannot moderated the relationship between transformational leadership and village head performance.
